Machine development at RSP is constantly striving for ever greater safety, together with even higher levels of reliability and efficiency. This applies of course to all areas of a suction excavator. For safety reasons all chassis manufacturers forbid the active intervention in the steering system of the vehicles. RSP has therefore developed this RSS steering system. It is a universally adaptable and safe system which allows all vehicle types to be steered by remote control. The steering forces correspond to the steering movements made by the driver.
The RSP RSS steering system is simply placed on the steering wheel and fixed with quick-releases; it enables safe operation of the optional traction drive using the radio remote control unit. By pressing the ergonomically shaped joy-stick, the steering wheel is turned faster or slower in the cockpit depending on the intensity. When the joy-stick is released, the wheels remain in the position it was steered to last. The sensitivity of the control enables precise navigation on the construction site and needs only a few steering corrections to get the job done.
The hydraulic traction drive enables the machine to be moved during the suction process. This equipment significantly increases the effectiveness, especially when suctioning over longer distances or areas. RSP also provides various ways of implementing this. All technical options are controlled by means of a joystick with safe-operating feature.
